"DIRTY HANDS AND GRAVEL ROADS" is Leandro's second full lenght album, released seven years after the debut "Postcards from nowhere" and seven months after the EP "Accept and continue", which contained the outtakes recorded in solitude during the covid19 lockdown.
In recent years Leandro has dedicated himself to the Southern Rock slide, he founded two of the most active blues bands in the clubs and squares of Milan (Delta Preachers and Rolling Forks), he became a father and performed on stage as a guest of international artists such as Max Prandi, Ruben Minuto, Luca Andrea Crippa, Marco Limido, Alessandro Porro ...

"DIRTY HANDS AND GRAVEL ROADS" collects and amplifies these experiences, with the help of the usual compadres Deneb Bucella (Looking for a name, Goodwines, Nation of Giants) on drums and Giuseppe Diana on piano and hammond, to assist the author (who sings and plays everything else, recording and producing the record) in search of a dry, nervous, electric sound, but full of soul and all of his musical influences: John "Cougar" Mellencamp, Will Hoge, Dan Baird, John Hiatt , Neil Young, a certain contemporary country between Nashville and Texas, soul echoes and the inevitable, beloved blues ... In short, as Luca Andrea Crippa (Ruben Minuto Band, No Rolling Back) admirably summed up, "Southern Rock after the lesson of grunge ".

Claudio Toldonato (Marina Rei, Operaia Orchestra, Fabio Zeppetella) is the only special guest, singing the closing lines of Getaway, quoting two great Timoria classic songs of the 90s ...

The album title comes from one of the most representative songs of the album "Another gravel road" which is about the desire and the courage to build, get your hands dirty, get them back again after everything collapses, together with the promises of a better future that turn out to be plain lies, one after the other… but never taking a step back or giving up. And away, on the highway, singing old blues, looking for another bit of mud to get your hands dirty again, while the chorus celebrates the joy and surprise of still being alive and the melody life a great classic of the years 60's ...

If "Postcards" summarized a long phase of youthful creativity, "DIRTY HANDS AND GRAVEL ROADS" fully represents Leandro Diana as a grown-up man and musician, dealing with stories, defeats, amazements and desire for payback in which many listeners will identify.
